Its manufacturing plant holds a certificate of conformance to the International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS). Nowadays, Ural Locomotives is implementing one of the most priority transport engineering projects aimed at manufacturing of high-speed electric trains Lastochka in Russia and subsequent localization of its components and systems. The company has admirably fulfilled the tasks it was charged with: to master production technologies of high-speed electric trains. Results of 2016 shown that localization level of Lastochka reached 77%. In order to implement this project, Ural Locomotives selected more than 160 leading supplier of local systems and equipment from various regions of Russia.

HARTING, along with MTZ Transmash and Ural Locomotives LLC performed activities to select connectors intended for interconnection of various systems with central undercar braking control unit. The task was fulfilled strictly in time and allowed the customer to test the systems aboard of the train timely. As a result, a decision of the expert acceptance committee was made on series supply of such equipment for the localized version of ES2G electric trains. The solution proposed includes various HARTING connectors, from Han® series power connectors to interface ones intended for transmission based on CAN and Ethernet protocols.

The high level of quality and reliability, as well as trouble-free application in other projects of brake systems, allowed the producer to choose HARTING products, including due to the high level of competence in this field. HARTING was approved as a manufacturer of cable assemblies for Lastochka and, starting from June 2015, commenced with their manufacturing and supplies. For that purpose, a new production department of HARTING was created and certified in Russia.
